Winter Fun.

The convenient location puts this you in the perfect spot for the best powder skiing and snowboarding in Utah.  There are no lift lines for the finest skiing that Utah has to offer. Breathtaking views of the Great Salt Lake and Salt Lake City await you at the top of the Strawberry and John Paul lifts at Snowbasin. After a terrific day of skiing, enjoy great dining at a mountain lodge next to a roaring fire. Powder Mountain has a shuttle that picks up blocks Photograph by Pamela Mitchellfrom the house, a local favorite since there are still fewer lines, and great powder and helicopter or cat skiing.  Wolf Mountain is perfect for beginners and those who prefer an easier, less expensive day.

Cross-country skiing opportunities are endless when the Valley is covered with snow, not to mention groomed trails at the resorts. Non-skiers will enjoy snowmobiling and ice fishing. A private outdoor spa at the Eden Alpine Retreat completes the perfect end to an active day in the mountains.

Summer Fun.

Practice your swing at Wolf Creek Resort's Championship Golf Course while taking in spectacular views, or try the courses in Ogden. Enjoy water sports on Pineview Reservoir, including fishing, boating, water skiing, Jet skiing, or canoeing. There are three accessible beaches, parks and trails around the lake, and a small yacht club for sailing.

The surrounding hills and mountains provide miles and miles of biking, hiking, and horseback riding, as well as mountain climbing, four-wheeling and hunting. August brings the Ogden Valley Balloon Festival with entertainment, arts and crafts booths. After 10 years, it has become the 5th largest such festival in the state, and the rooms book fast. September brings the Upper Ogden Valley Triathlon and Taste Photograph by Pamela Mitchellof Ogden Valley Festival with full and mini triathlon courses, swimming in Pineview Reservoir, and bicycling and running at Huntsville Park.

Snowbasin summer lift-served biking and hiking open 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Friday, Saturday, Sunday and holidays through September 25, 2005. Enjoy music on the plaza and special moonlight gondola rides.

Hunting is also popular in the surrounding areas, with guided trips are available through Red Rock Ranch and Outfitters. Tell them we sent you, they also provide snowmobiles and horseback riding, sleigh rides, hay rides and Dutch Oven dinners from the Red Rock Cafe. Fly fishing for trout in area streams and the lake is very popular but not over crowded. For a change of pace, visit Dinosaur Park at the entrance to Ogden Canyon.
